Philipians 3:8-10

"...I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, ...that I may gain Christ and be found in him, ...I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death" --Philippians 3:8-10

Let's Start from the Very Beginning...

With 23 days to go before I depart, I wanted to share my heart, and my reason, for setting forth on this exciting journey. Below is a portion of my support letter that was sent out to so many loving and generous family and friends. Again, THANK YOU ALL who have so generously supported me through prayer and finances. What a blessing it is to feel the love and have the support from so many :o)

...

As many of you know for nearly two years I have had the pleasure of working for a wonderful organization called Joni and Friends International Disability Center, which is dedicated to extending the love and message of Christ to people affected by disability locally and abroad.

During my time here I have had the opportunity to witness many of God’s miracles amongst a people group that is so often overlooked, and seeing first-hand Christ’s words from Luke 14 ringing loud and true. “Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame…Go out to the roads and the country lanes and make them come in, so that my house will be full.”

In today’s world it is reported that there is a need for 20-30 million wheelchairs around the world, and out of that number most have yet to hear the Gospel of Christ. With this knowledge and much prayer and consideration, I have decided to partner with Wheels for the World, a Joni and Friends program. Wheels for the World presents the Gospel to those in need by delivering wheelchairs and Bibles in developing countries. But Wheels for the World is not simply about “dropping off a wheelchair.” It’s about changing the hearts, minds, and lives of people. It’s about transforming societies, village by village, person by person, and bringing hope, joy, and salvation to the children and adults with disabilities around the world.

God has prepared my heart, and I have heard His call, and I will be joining the Wheels outreach to India this fall. From September 29th-October 11th our team will be distributing Bibles and over 200 wheelchairs to the people in need in Karnataka, India. I’d like to share this exciting opportunity with you, and invite you to serve alongside me through your support in prayer. Your partnership in prayer will be greatly needed as God prepares the hearts of our team and those we will come in contact with.
