Philipians 3:8-10

"...I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, ...that I may gain Christ and be found in him, ...I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death" --Philippians 3:8-10

Coming Home!

I have to keep this brief because I have to get ready for dinner :-)  But I wanted to let everyone know that I begin my journey home tomorrow.  I officially arrive at LAX around 8pm on Monday.  I can't wait to see everyone and share about some of the incredible experiences we have had.  India will definitely hold a special place in my heart and I plan on returning real soon.

Well family, God is good, and that's all I can really say.  Thank you again for all your prayers and support.

Much love and blessings,

Thumbs UP!

Today we finished our second day of wheelchair distribution in Hubli. It as amazing to watch families come from miles away by bus or train, and crawl up to the center where the distribution was taking place. Families patiently waited as their number was called to be fitted for a wheelchair. In many cases there wasn't an exact match for the client, but with the prayer and some creativity, our Therapists were able to create a chair for their unique needs. We saw that in the case of 5 year old Manjova, who was found abandoned in a gutter shortly after she was born, and taken in by an older woman named, Damava.  She has three older daughters who help take care of the little girl.

They traveled 4 1/2 hours, taking 3 different buses, to get to the distribution site. Since we didn't have any pediatric chairs, our therapists created a special chair out of materials found at the center.  Damava was thrilled that the Therapists took the time to care for her adoptive daughter.

Please pray that as we move on to our next distribution site that more pediatric chairs will be available.  God is doing amazing works here in Hubli, and we know He will be doing the same in the next village.

If you would like to follow up further with our team's outreach, and maybe see a few photos, check out Grace Baptist's website at www.gracebaptist.org/india-wheels2010.

Much love and blessings,

Alive and well!

Hi all!  So I am here...I made it!  It's now Saturday about 5pm and we're about to get ready for dinner :-)  Man do I LOVE Indian food!  The travel was easier than I thought, but 22 hours of flight time really takes a toll on your body and your metal status (lol).  When we got off the plane we went straight to our hotel, changed, ate, then went directly into the town for shopping.  An experiece that almost had me calling it quits!  I think I almost died 5 times just from walking a block from our hotel.  All the stories you hear about Indian driving is completely TRUE! I felt like I was playing "Frogger" with the traffic.  I was a bit disoriented, but finally got my bearings.

Today was wonderful though!  We went and toured the Equip India sight and met all the lovely staff and residents.  They gave us a wonderful Indian welcome :-)  Tomorrow we go to church and I get to wear my pretty new Salwar that I bought.  Well I have to keep this short, but I wanted to just let you all know that I am here and God is so good.  Thank you all again for your love and support and please continue to pray.  I hope to be on here again soon, and maybe I'll be able to add some photos too.

Much love,

Veronica
